Take a step towards infant nutritional preparedness in this one-and-a-half-hour class breaking down breastfeeding basics. This class falls on the 1st Monday of every month from 6:30pm – 8pm.
Learn how your body prepares to nourish your new baby and how their nutritional needs develop and change during the initial two weeks of life. Kimberly Johansen, Certified Nurse-Midwife, breaks down some of the myths surrounding the first 48 hours after birth that pertain to breastfeeding and newborn development. The class informs mothers what is happing in her body and her infant’s body and how to establish successful breastfeeding that is nonstress full for both.
Our Massage therapist, who is certified in both breast and infant massage, joins this class to teach hands on skills to help increase milk supply, decrease risk of clogged ducts, and the symptoms of engorgement when your milk supply comes in. She also teaches basic infant massage to help reduce colic and gas buildup.
Heng also teaches one-on-one classes for both breast in infant massage.
This class is $50 for Empowered Pregnancy families and $75 for outside families. For prices specific to the one-on-one classes see Heng Ma’s web page.
